12 MoUs signed between India and Bhutan

Signing of MoUs
Twelve agreements and Memoranda of Understanding were signed today in the presence of His Majesty the King and the Indian Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh at the Hyderabad house in New Delhi, India.
The agreements range from ICT development in Bhutan to transmission master plan and the establishment of medical college in Bhutan.
In the morning, His Majesty was received with a guard of honour at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
On arrival at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, His Majesty the King was received by the President of India, Pratibha Patel and the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh.
After the guard of hounour His Majesty spoke to the media. His Majesty the King said His visit is a friendship visit.
“This is also my very first foreign visit as a King to India. And it comes as no coincidence. This is a reflection of the importance that Bhutan attaches to Indo-Bhutan friendship,” said His Majesty adding that it is also a reflection of the commitment that He has towards further strengthening the special ties of co-operation and friendship that exist between the two countries.
The Indian External Affairs minister, SM Krishna, called on His Majesty the King at the Taj hotel.
